Just with her first book, it seems like she has hit the right chord with the readers & audience, with some amazing reviews on book-selling portals & some renowned people.
What’s so special about this book?
Well, this book is based on the concept of Angel & the Devil, our two minds, that we as humans battle on a daily basis & yet strive hard to find a balance. The title “Blinded By Ambition” And the subtitle “Are you letting the Devil conquer?”, are very well thought of, to bring out the correct essence of the message, Vritvi intends to give.
In conversation with Vritvi Sawant:
The interviewer: What made you think about this concept?
Vritvi: “Well, to be honest, I have always been fascinated by the stories of Angels & demons & deep down, due to my spiritual inclination, I believed in it. Also, it comes from the fact that, in the real world, we are all just running a rat race & the core definition of “Ambition” is lost to worldly pleasures & wealth accumulation, forgetting the difference between right & wrong, which in a sense are the qualities of the Devil/Devilish mind.
Hence, I thought, this would be a great correlation for each & every individual to look beyond the rat race & self-reflect for some time, whether are they being blinded by ambition or do they even know their own definition of Ambition.
And honestly, I have also fought my two minds in various instances to achieve my goals. But I never lost track. But there are many people, who forget to differentiate between right & wrong, while moving ahead.”
The interviewer: Wow, that’s a very deep thought! I never took a pause to think about it. Maybe I should! (*giggles)
So tell me, did you always want to become an author or it happened suddenly, like most of the authors we know?
Vritvi: Ahh! I always always wanted to become an author. Then a public speaker, a stage performer, and an entrepreneur. And trust me, today, after years of personal & professional struggles, I am all of that.
I have always been fond of writing down my thoughts & short poems & proverbs in numerous diaries since childhood, apart from wanting to grab the center stage & speak in front of a crowd
As a matter of fact, I used to tell my parents, “You know what, Mom Dad, I will write a book someday & will be an inspiration to many people”. But just like all Indian-Asian parents, they never took this statement seriously. Today, when they see all of this recognition around my talents, those words keep coming back to them & today, for sure, they are the proudest of all.
Obviously, with a worldwide release & the reviews & appreciation I have got for my work, is just so surreal that I have to pinch myself at times to know that I am actually living my dream. What else does a writer want? Right?”
The interviewer: How long did it take to write & publish the book? Is there any story behind this story?
Vritvi:“I have always been a person with a lot of clarity in my thoughts. Hence, if asked anything, I would rather say a yes or a no. I would never give a diplomatic answer. Hence, i neevr liked Grey. But one day, while I was just discussing this with my dad, he made me understand that, you can’t always be like there’s either a black or white, there’s also grey & if you think with a calm mind, that grey part needs to be addressed too.
That one statement actually rang the bell. Before that, I had written a different story of a CEO & the Saint. Later on, I scrapped the old script & worked on a completely new one. And I thought, the concept of Angels & the Devil, would be a great fiction story to bring out a message of finding a balance in our minds, and in our lives. And yeah it took me 2 years to write, rewrite, structure the narrative & the characters.”
Interviewer: So, is there a sequel to the book?:
Vritvi: “Well wait for it!” (*Smiles)
